Dr. Kaysie Banton, Trauma Medical Director
Dr. Banton has practiced at three different Level 1 trauma centers and as the Trauma Medical Director at a Level 2 center. She also helped to create a mature Trauma System for the Fairview Medical System overseeing the operations of 7 different Trauma Centers across Minnesota. She is currently the Trauma Medical Director of Swedish Medical Center. She has interests in Trauma Systems, Collaborative care, quality improvement and health care administration in addition to her clinical work.
Dr. Dave Acuña, Trauma Medical Director
David Acuña, DO, FACOS is a general/trauma surgeon with over 20 years with clinical experience in general surgery including: thoracic, endocrine, pediatric, obstetrical-gynecological, and trauma. Dr. Acuña has practiced as a trauma surgeon and critical care intensivist since 2004 and has served as Medical Director of Adult Trauma Services since 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
Dr. Gina Berg, Research Director
Dr. Berg is a human factors psychologist that serves as Director of Trauma Research and Wesley Leadership Institute at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Dr. Berg is also a Research Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita.
Carlos H Palacio Lascano, MD - Trauma Medical Director
Dr. Palacio is the Trauma Medical Director at STHS McAllen, director of Research for the trauma program, and director for the Advanced Trauma and Life Support course at STHS McAllen. He is also the local Program Director of the General Surgery Residency at the Valley Health System GME Consortium, and an instructor for the American College of Surgeons Stop the Bleeding class.
Christopher Zaw-Mon, Trauma Medical Director
Christopher Zaw-Mon is a trauma and general surgeon. Chris received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his medical education from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He completed his surgical residency at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and his trauma and critical care fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Chris is board certified in General Surgery and Trauma/Surgical Critical Care. He is also an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor. Chris spends his free time with his wife and three children. He enjoys gardening, mountain biking, and backcountry skiing.
Robert M. Madayag, Trauma and general surgeon
Dr. Rob Madayag specializes in Acute Care Surgery which encompasses the disciplines of trauma, surgical critical care and emergency general surgery. He attended Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and trained at University of Maryland Shock Trauma for residency and fellowship. Rob also has interest in research and education. He is involved in multiple research projects and is a course instructor and director for ATLS. He enjoys outside activities including mountain biking, skiing and has interest in personal fitness including cross fit and survival races.
